If you are in pain, there is no point in straining yourself. Listen to your body, stay active as long as you can, and lie down when you need to relieve the pain. Anyway, "lying down" doesn't have to mean "taking a nap". So just be sure to stay awake and keep your mind active. You can read, do a crossword, play cards, knit, etc.
